Types of Diabetes

There are several forms of diabetes mellitus (DM), but, the 3 major types of diabetes are:
  • Type 1 Diabetes
  • Type 2 Diabetes
  • Gestational Diabetes
Other types of diabetes include: 
  • Type 1.5 LADA (latent autoimmune diabetes in adult)
  • Type 3 Alzheimer's
  • MODY (Maturity onset diabetes of the young)
  • Brittle Diabetes
  • Double Diabetes
  • Steroid-induced diabetes (incl. CFRD, Cystic fibrosis-related diabetes).
